Palloza Casa do Sesto

The palloza 'Casa do Sesto' dates back at least from 1770. It was the main house of the current owner until 1970. Since 1989 is opened for the general public - in 2007 was awarded with the autonomous administration recognition as etnographic collection available for visits. The main goal of the palloza is to broadcast the traditional way of life and culture of this high-lying mountain area, maintaining the primitive structure of these contractions and saving in the interior the tools and instruments related to the original uses.

Anaesthesiology and Reanimation Collection

The Anaesthesiology and Reanimation Collection is exhibited in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Santiago de Compostela. The small monographic collection shows the old Galician anaesthetic, surgical and reanimation instruments. It is noteworthy, given that the Escola Compostelá de Medicina (Medical School from Santiago de Compostela) was the first medical school in Spain using anaesthetics.

Casa do Patrón Collection

The Casa do Patrón Museum is an etnographic museum with more than 4,000 pieces collected from all over Galicia. The collection is distributed in three buildings with over 2,000 m2.

The museum houses thirteen theme organized exhibition halls, where the visitor can behold the old Galician schools, the way of life of our ancestors, forgotten trades or a tavern, along with traditional oven and forge. Also in the museum, the visitor will find the implements characterizing all farming and ranching trades and activities from last centuries, living memory of our history.

Arxeriz Pazo

The Arxeriz Pazo is located in Ribeira Sacra, in Saviñao, parish of Fión, in a 30 hectares estate with a wonderful situation in the bank of the Miño River. The museum is composed of the equipped halls inside the 17th century pazo and series of popular architecture buildings located inside the estate.

Inside the pazo cthe traditional kitchen with the hearth, furniture and utensils are displayed. On the other hand, the events hall is being set up as a reference for castro culture to expose the archaeological remains found in the successive campaigns.

House Museum Rosalía de Castro

In 1947 the Rosalía de Castro Patronage was created in order to recover the Casa da Matanza. The house was restored in 1971 and today it is owned by the Rosalía de Castro Foundation, which carries on with the work started by the Patronage. Among the Foundation's main objectives is to raise awareness about the figure and work of Rosalía de Castro while also spreading the work of her husband, historian Manuel Murguía. The Foundation also guarantees the conservation of the House Museum and the writer's Mausoleum at the church of San Domingos de Bonaval in Santiago.
