Municipal Museum of Manuel Torres

The museum was born thanks to the donation of its benefactor, the painter Manuel Torres Martinez. the donated around 77 works for the Marín City Council. Manuel Torres was born in Marín in 1901. His main influence was Carlos Maside, with whom he was very good friends. Torres has worked in newspapers with vignettes and drawings, where his admiration for the style and satire of Castelao becomes clear.

Municipal Museum of Ramón María Aller Ulloa

The museum was opened in 1989, as a tribute to the priest Mr Ramón María Aller Ulloa, who was a renowned astronomer and mathematic born in Lalín in 1878 and died in 1966. The old residency of the scientist was adapted for the museum. The old building from the 19th century was the first space observatory of Galicia. The office, furniture and instruments that Aller Ulloa used for his works are preserved, as well as the documents, photographs and many books from his personal library.

Provincial Museum of Pontevedra

The Museum of Pontevedra is one of the most important cultural institutions in Galicia both for the research and cultural activities it carries out and for the relevance and diversity of the exhibits it gathers, such as paintings, sculptures, photographs, furniture, pottery pieces, and its archaeological, ethnographic, documentary and book collections. Moreover, it houses the largest collection of works by Castelao, a key figure in Galician culture and politics.

Wine and Etnographic Museum of Cambados

The Etnographic and Wine Collection is located in one of the most memorable places of Cambados, nearby the remains of the medieval church of Santa Mariña Dozo (15th century).

The centre is devoted to the themes related to vineyard harvest and wine production. The showing goes through the history, art, popular culture, along with all winegrowing related aspects, including the different varieties and the elaboration process of wines under the Rías Baixas Appellation.

Casa do Patrón Collection

The Casa do Patrón Museum is an etnographic museum with more than 4,000 pieces collected from all over Galicia. The collection is distributed in three buildings with over 2,000 m2.

The museum houses thirteen theme organized exhibition halls, where the visitor can behold the old Galician schools, the way of life of our ancestors, forgotten trades or a tavern, along with traditional oven and forge. Also in the museum, the visitor will find the implements characterizing all farming and ranching trades and activities from last centuries, living memory of our history.

Laxeiro Foundation

The Laxeiro Foundation was constituted in 1999 in Vigo with the aim of housing; preserving and promotion the collection donated by painter Xosé Otero Abeledo, Laxeiro (1908-1996). The collection includes sixty four pieces, some of them true jewels of Galician 20th century art. The permanent collection is a route through Laxeiro's career, who was one of the most representative figures of Movemento Renovador (Renovator Movement) of Galician painting.
