The visit
In addition to traditional Galician musical instruments, the Center preserves sound archives, documentation, and audiovisual materials. This is a unique collection, the result of over 40 years of research by Xavier Blanco.
The exhibition is organized into three thematic sections:
- Section 1: Primitive Instruments – created from natural elements, used to communicate, imitate sounds, or perform rituals.
- Section 2: The Annual Festive Cycle – pieces related to traditional celebrations, both religious and connected to labor and the productive calendar.
- Section 3: Rhythmic Movement – instruments associated with dance, walking rhythms, and work songs.
This space is designed for everyone, with no restrictions on age or background:
- General public – families, adults, and travelers curious about Galician music and culture.
- Educational community – suitable for all academic levels.
- Associations and cultural groups – activities focused on the recovery and transmission of traditions.
- People with specific needs – an accessible and inclusive center, open to all members of society.
