This basement room is named after the permanent exhibition held here: Valle-Inclán y su tiempo. This place had been devoted to practical usage, like open shop, warehouse and office, since merchants, commercial and landlords were the main activities of ancient tenants. It was home to traditional fishing boats from mid 19th century until 20th century.
Valle-Inclán y su tiempo, it was an initiative of Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture, Instituto Nacional de la Artes Escénicas y de la Música – Museo Nacional del Teatro. Professor Juan Antonio Hormigón was the commissioner and Tomás Adrián was its designer. The exhibition brings together a wide range of self explanatory panels and illustrations which inform us of the main biographical and literary facts of D. Ramon. The goal was to show Spanish culture around the world during institutional events. It travelled as temporary exhibition through Latin-America and Europe from 1982. It was donated by INAEM - Museo Nacional del Teatro (Almagro – Ciudad Real).

Furniture and collected items:
First.- Selected playbills, don Ramón book translations or collected handicraft masques from Pontevedra (ca. 1930) are showcased.
Following.- Upon pedestal: main local monument models from A Pobra do Caramiñal council: Muller traballadora (2001) y Emigrante (2007), by Gonzalo Sánchez Mendizábal and original carved bust Valle-Inclán, by Fernando Castaño (2004).
Before leaving the room, some selected pictures of don Ramón from contemporary press are displayed in the adjacent room SALA DE AUDIOVISUAL. They were taken by Alfonso Sánchez Portela, Moreno or Capua and belong to Archivo General de la Administración (Alcalá de Henares - Madrid). A nearby contemporary camera is displayed. It was made in París by H. Martín (1890-1900), de with bellows and glass plate.
In this room some movies about don Ramón life and works can be watched. On a regular basis: La Malcasada (1926), by Francisco Gómez Hidalgo, with Valle-Inclán scene at Julio Romero de Torres painter atelier, as wel as documentary Espagne. Les Morts vivants de Puebla del Caramiñal (1959), from Journal Actualité Gaumont, about ancient local «Nazareno» offering tradition. They were provided as film deposit by Filmoteca Española, Gaumont Pathé Archives and CGAI & Museo Valle-Inclán.
