The Saint Clare Sacred Art Museum covers three small Baroque rooms of the convent, build in the 18th century with an interior structure from the 13th century. The convent belongs to the order of Clare sisters. Some time ago, it seems the convents hosted great artistic works - some of them are still shown in the museum.
The most important piece is the 'Virxe Abrideira', a small ivory carving from late 13th century. Most probably, the work was a donation from the Queen of Castile and León Dona Violante, founder of the convent and wife to Alfonso X The Wise. Another outstanding item is the quartz cross, which shows interesting techniques of gothic smithing, with a wide range of materials (crystal, vitreous enamel...).
