School handbook

Printed paper booklet, consisting of four notebooks plus a coloured cover made of thicker grain paper, joined with two staples on the spine.

This handbook kept a detailed record of children’s progress at school, year after year, and was valid for all primary schools from the Ministerial Order of 1st June 1954 to the General Education Act of 1970. In terms of structure, the handbook had a space for the student’s name and other personal details, pages for their termly grades, with boxes for the annual average and spaces for the signatures of the teacher and the class tutor.
