The Terra de Melide Museum is located in interior Galicia in a region very linked to pilgrimage to Santiago; indeed, the French Way and the Northern (via Oviedo) Way cross the town. In 2001, it was reopened in the old Hospital of Sancti Spíritus.
The collection is organised in several sections. The first hall houses the Ways of Saint James, with photographs of the monuments in Saint James' Way, a model of the monuments in Terra de Melide, medieval capitals, 15th century sarcophagus, mural painting and the history of the Pilgrims Hospital of Sancti Spíritus.
The archaeology section covers the second and third hall In the second hall shows remains from the Neolithic to Celtic castro times; whilst the third hall is dedicated to Romanisation. The pieces shown in these halls were remains found in surrounding sites, such as in the Castro da Graña or in Vila de Piñeiro.
The etnographic section is developed in four halls, where the visitor will behold pieces related to traditional trades such as carpenters, shoemaker, clog maker, etc., along with elements liked to toys, school life and music. There is also a hall dedicated to linen weaving and a room showing the house life.
