The renovated Iconographic Museum of Sacred Art of Allariz shows the collection owned by Aser Seara Foundation. The selection is composed of more than a hundred religious pieces with Marian, Christologic and Hagiographic themes. The tour offers a general vision of the sacred iconography, from 13th to 20 century, thanks to the wide collection of sculptures, relieves paintings and craftsmanship in precious metals.
It is also noteworthy the Address of the showing, in Allariz - province of Ourense - with an old town declared Historic and Artistic Site in 1971. The building was firstly erected in 1920 and renovated to adapt the old house to a museum
It is worth mentioning the voussoir fragment from the 12th century. The piece is embedded in one of the inner walls of the building and decorated with geometric patterns, typical of Romanesque art.
