“Internalities”: a Galician perspective Public Programme
Internalities: Architectures for Territorial Equilibrium, the Spanish Pavilion at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale, explores how architects can—and must—minimise the environmental externalities associated with production processes in order to move towards the decarbonisation of construction. Internalities foregrounds the work of a new generation of Spanish practices characterised by the use of local, regenerative, low-carbon resources. Collectively, they contribute to a deeper understanding of the regional ecologies of materials such as timber, stone and earth, as well as of the forests, quarries and soils from which they originate. In doing so, these works generate new territorial equilibria and develop renewed forms of agreement between ecologies and economies.
The presentation of Internalities at the CGAC offers an opportunity to connect the exhibition’s decarbonisation agenda with Galicia’s architectural, economic and ecological conditions. Architects, policymakers, experts and social agents will explore how decarbonisation can be linked to the use of Galicia’s own resources through four conversations brought together under the title 'Internalities': A Galician Perspective.
