Pistol for boarding an enemy ship

These pistols had a small bayonet that could be pulled out for use in hand-to-hand combat when boarding an enemy ship. The small bayonet had to be stuck in the opponent’s eye or heart so as to cause immediate damage. This model was used at the Battle of Trafalgar, so predating the substantial changes that took place in weaponry in the 1820s.
