Canon arpoeiro para la caza da balea

Around 1900 the Norwegians became leaders in the whaling industry thanks to new technological advances and whaling returned to the coast of Galicia and of Spain in general. The steam-ships, the pump for blowing air into the whale to prevent it from sinking once it had been captured and the harpoon cannons with explosives converted whale hunting into an enormous act of butchery at a worldwide level. In just a few decades various species were brought to the verge of extinction. This cannon comes from one of the whaling vessels from the Massó fleet.
