Sketch for an advertising poster for Massó tinned fish

In the 1920s the Massó engaged Federico Ribas, one of the best-known graphic artists of the time, to design the image for the brand, tins and wrappers and for advertising the products. Federico Ribas established his cosmopolitan, refined, sophisticated style in turn-of-the-century Paris, converting an overly stylized, somewhat fragile female figure into the distinctive feature of his work. Paris was also where he met his wife Georgina-Clotilde Boussange, whom he often used as a model.
